TOM SHAW PT BIO

Using my 17 years in the leisure industry and by working on my own mental and physical health, I feel that I have a good understanding of what works and what doesn't.

 

Whether you want to lose weight or just improve overall fitness, if you work with me, you can skip past all the mistakes that I made when wanting to lose weight, use my wisdom to get effective results quicker.

Sports I've competed in:

- Tough Mudder and other OCRs

- 100 and 200m sprints

- Javelin, discuss and shot putt

- Archery

- 5 & 10k road & trail races

- Hyrox (first race will be March 2024)

My passions when training clients are to use boxing, strength training and resistance training. I find have a combination of these elements in our sessions means the session is challenging but also really fun!

1:1 Training

As a private Personal Trainer, my philosophy is centered around listening to my clients and developing customized workout plans that cater to their specific goals. I firmly believe that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to fitness.

POWER-FIT

Power-Fit is a new small group personal training session which takes places on a weekly basis.

 

The aim of this group is motivate and challenge your fitness levels, focusing on cardiovascular and strength based training principles.

Postural Corrective Exercise

Poor posture is a contributing factor to injury, muscle imbalance, poor circulation and reduced range of movement.

​

This is a hands on holistic treatment that involves an initial consultation followed by a series of workout sessions that will help correct the pain and weakness you've been experiencing. 

Performance Coaching

I've been a competitive athlete for many sports including running, cycling, archery, javelin, 100m, 200m, discuss, shot, long jump and HYROX. 

​

This combined with working with dozens of athletes of the last 17 years means I know a thing or two about getting your peak athletic performance. With 1:1 coaching I can help you improve in the sport that you love.
